Dennis W. Marty

Dennis W. Marty “Butch”, age 74, went to be with the Lord on January 22, 2021. Dennis was born on October 12, 1946 in Dodgeville, WI, the son of Walter and Hazel (nee Otter) Marty. Dennis grew up on a farm in Hollandale. He was an Army Vietnam Veteran from 1967-1968, with the Big Red One. After serving his country he was employed as a heavy machine operator. Dennis was a loving, caring partner to Alice, a wonderful father and grandfather who loved his family dearly. He was a very thoughtful, kind and giving person, we were all blessed to have him in our lives. He enjoyed sharing many memories with his family and friends, especially his hunting and fishing adventures. His love of wood carving showed in his beautiful workmanship. Dennis also enjoyed his “McDonald” visits with his coffee buddies. Dennis is survived by his loving partner Alice Gartmann; his children Doreen (Eugene) Grunewald and Robin (Ken Hendricks) Garza; his grandchildren Jolene and Justin; his siblings; twin sister Diane (Pete) Petersen, Kathy (Bob) Jenkins, Bob (Karen) Marty, Brenda (Steve) Wolfe, RoxAnne (Hank) Zimmerman and Doreen Mott along with many nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Hazel, his grandson Jeremy and sister Florence. The family of Dennis would like to thank everyone for their prayers and kind words. We would also like to thank hospice services for their care and support, special thanks to Robin for her loving heart. Upon Butch’s request, there will be no funeral services. Please keep Butch and his family in your prayers; it was Butch’s Catholic faith that gave him comfort in knowing he would one day be with God and his departed loved ones.
