David Bruce Jenness, age 65, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 1, 2023, after a struggle with ongoing health issues. He was born in Madison, Wis. on August 9, 1957, the son of Claire and Carol (Noha) Jenness.
David grew up in Oregon, Cross Plains, and Madison, Wis., with his six siblings, in a very loving (and busy) home. He graduated from West High School in Madison, Wis., in 1975, and maintained life-long relationships with his school and neighborhood friends. David’s work and recreation revolved around his self-taught expertise and passion for all types of vehicles. He was also a self-taught and exceptional welder. David will always be remembered for his amazing ability to recall and tell a great story, his edgy sense of humor, discerning ear for music, and generally being a big “softy”. He had a gentle soul and big heart, and was always generous and willing to help others in need. David touched many lives, and will always hold a special place in the hearts of his family and many friends.
David was survived by five of siblings: Linda (Steve) Schoenick of Belleville, Wis., Steve Jenness of Prior Lake, Minn., Paula (William) Bultman of Prior Lake, Minn., Donna (James) Goyer of Cambridge, Wis., and Lori (Jeff) Cirves of Blue Mounds, Wis.; 11 nieces and nephews; and 5 great-nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents, Claire and Carol (Noha) Jenness; beautiful sister, Kathy (William) Teasdale of Veneta, Ore.; and infant brother, Michael.
The family would like to thank Heartland Promedica Hospice, Edgerton Hospital, and Columbia Healthcare Center for their diligent and compassionate care and support.
A celebration of life and burial will be held in early June to honor David. In lieu of donations or flowers, please consider a memorial offering at www.heart.org/donate, www.kidneyfund.org/give, or www.diabetes.org/donate.
