David E. “Dave” Walford, age 71, of Verona, Wisconsin passed away in his home after a long illness on Saturday November 27th, 2021. Dave was born on April 29th, 1950, the son of Don and Betty Walford in Madison, Wisconsin. Dave married Karen Garrett on September 19th, 2010, she survives.
Dave ended his manufacturing career doing robotics at Fisher Barton in October 2017. Dave thoroughly enjoyed building and racing cars and motorcycles. He was happiest at the race track or in his shop. Being his humble self, Dave rarely mentioned that he was the recipient of a Purple Heart and Bronze Star after fighting in Vietnam.
He was most proud of his children; Arisa Walford Williams of Middleton, WI, David (Allison) Walford of Wisconsin Dells, WI, Senri Ratliff of Waterloo, WI, and his two stepsons, Shane (Marie) Judd of Mequon, WI, and Jesse (Megan) Ashwill of McFarland, WI. Dave was also the proud grandfather to Kaija, Jade, Pheonix, Karma, Hiro, Olivia, Sam, Kate, Charles, Mia, and Ellie. Dave is further survived by his sister, Susan Patterson of Houston, Texas, his brother, Rich (Paula) Walford of Brooklyn, Wisconsin, as well as brother-in-law Chuck (Pam) Garrett of Chehalis, Washington. Dave was proceeded in death by his parents, Don and Betty, his sister, Sandy, and brother, Larry.
Dave was one of the most pleasant gentlemen with a kind and gentle smile.
