Dave Arndt

November 24, 1938 — February 20, 2018

Dave Arndt, 79, of DeForest, Wisconsin passed away on February 20, 2018 with his immediate family at his bed side. He was born in the homestead of his late parents, Ray and Elvera, near Eden, Wisconsin. Dave graduated from Campbellsport High School in 1957 and completed his collegiate studies in chemistry at Carroll College. Dave was a dedicated employee of 31 years at Oscar Mayer and Co; which led to his Oscar Mayer collection that is unsurpassed. His many commitments and passions included driving school bus, Boy Scout leader for 15 years, red and white Holstein cattle farmer, and a very supportive father of three active sons. Dave also was a Senior Olympic Track and Field All-American as recently as last summer. He earned dozens of championships in shot put, discus, hammer throw, javelin and 50-meter sprint throughout the USA. He hiked the Swiss Alps, Colorado Rockies, Machu Picchu, went down the Amazon River, and visited Israel. He loved pilates and yoga at the Sun Prairie Athletic Club. Cancer took Dave so suddenly and too soon. During his lifetime, he provided life to others by donating 128 pints of blood. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 59 years, Dolores: three sons Brice (Kristine), Brad, and Blair (Jennifer). He is survived by nine grandchildren: Ryan, Sara, Emily, Brittney, Chelsia, Austin, Ashley, Alyssa, and Breanna as well as four great grandchildren: Broden, Aralynn, Breeja, and Kaib. The family wishes to thank all those that have had Dave in their prayers. A celebration of life will be at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Sun Prairie, Wisconsin on Friday, March 9 at 11:30 am with visitation starting at 9:30 am (luncheon following). The internment will be held on Saturday, March 10 at 11:00 am, Mitchell Cemetery Osceola, Wisconsin. A celebration of life for his friends and family from "back home" will follow at Tabor Methodist Church, Eden, Wisconsin. We ask that in lieu of flowers considerations can be directed to the Mitchell Cemetery Fund which is a "true country cemetery".
