Daniel Arthur Eggerding

Daniel Arthur Eggerding, age 71, of Madison, WI, died Monday, December 4, 2023. He was born in Valparaiso, Indiana, on May 26,1952, to Milferd and Dorothy Eggerding.

He was a graduate of Valparaiso high school and Valparaiso University, after which he graduated with a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Colorado State in Fort Collins, CO.

During his career, he worked as an electrical engineer for companies in Colorado, Wisconsin, Montana, Washington state, and California.

As a child and young adult, he lived in Valparaiso, IN, where he had two brothers, Philip and then Michael, who unfortunately died at childbirth. He lost Milferd, his father, in a tragic car accident in 1959. His mother remarried to Donald Bein in 1974 gaining stepsiblings: Janet Bein, William (Susan Slogoff) Bein, Mary Susan (Richard) Sheaves-Bein, and Carol (Tim) Robinson; along with nephews, Stephen Bein and David (Laura) Bein; and niece, Kristen Bein. He is survived by his brother, Philip.

Daniel enjoyed traveling, both as part of work and for pleasure, visiting such places as eastern and western Europe, China, South Africa, Morocco, New Zealand, Canada, and South and Central America.

A memorial service will be held in Valporaiso later this spring. Dan was a member of various Meetup groups, and we are asking that they do their own memorial for him at a future meeting.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the American Red Cross, or a charity of your choice.
