Claire Busse

Claire Busse, born April 19, 1968, was taken by cancer, leaving behind a life defined by strength, independence, and deep devotion to her sons.

Claire was a lifelong athlete who carried that discipline and resilience into all areas of her life. She built a peaceful life centered on what mattered most to her—her two sons, Luke and Connor. Being their mother was her greatest gift, privilege, and pride.

Claire is survived by her sons, Luke Busse and Connor Busse; her father, Stu Busse; her siblings, Aimee Busse and Andy Busse; and her partner, Cassie Wyss. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Schmitz, and her brother, Michael Busse.

Claire was genuine and kind, with a warm, inviting energy and an unmistakable smile. She lived life on her own terms, with clarity about what she valued and where she chose to invest her time and care.

A memorial service will be held at the First Unitarian Society of Madison on Thursday, April 30th at 5:00 p.m.

She will be remembered most for her strength, her loving presence, and her dedication to her sons.
