Christopher “Chris” Paul Rod passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, at the age of 55, surrounded by his family.

Chris was born in Dubuque, Iowa on December 5, 1970. Chris grew up in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, where he developed a lifelong passion for sports. He attended UW-Whitewater and worked in healthcare information systems.

Chris is survived by his fiancée, Jill; his daughters, Samantha and Taylor Rod; his father, Larry (Denise) Rod; his brothers, Jeff Rod, Aaron (Bobbi) Rod, and Gabe (Kristin) Ritchie; and sister Somer (Brian) Clark. Chris is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and close friends. Chris was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, who rarely missed a Packers, Badgers or Brewers game. Nothing meant more to Chris than his family. He cherished his time with his daughters, Samantha and Taylor, and fiancé, Jill, and his four-legged best friend, Roxie. He found so much joy in traveling to the beach and camping throughout his life. Chris was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 534.

All are encouraged to attend a 10:30 am mass with the family St. John’s Church in Prairie du Chien, WI on July 19, 2026. A burial service at Calvary Cemetery will follow at 12:00 pm. The family plans to gather for an informal lunch following the services at a location to be decided and will welcome any who wish to join.
