Candice Sue (Candy) Horne, 73, passed away on April 25. She was born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin.
Candy and her family lived in Chicago, Illinois, spending each summer with extended family in Birchwood, Wisconsin.
After graduating from Sullivan H.S. in 1967, she lived in the Seattle, Washington area until she moved to Monona, Wisconsin, in 1991 to be near her sister and niece.
Candy was employed at Dorn Hardware at the Monona Drive location, and later at the Cottage Grove Road location until they closed in 2007. She cleverly incorporated "hardwarehorne" into her email address.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Deloris (Dede Sander) and George Horne. Survived by her sister, Georgette; niece, Kirsten; and great nephew, Jaxson; as well as numerous cousins and many close friends including her ‘Bookies’ from Book Club.
Candy will be remembered for her love of reading, solving word search puzzles, and all things elephant.
A Celebration of Life will be held in June.
Those wishing to honor Candy’s memory are invited to make a donation to The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee. (www.elephants.com)
