Bruce Gordon Campbell

January 8, 1961 — October 14, 2022

Bruce Gordon Campbell passed away peacefully on October 14, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 61 years old.

Bruce is survived by his daughter, Tess Campbell; partner-in-life, Beth Somermeyer; brother, Brian (JoAnn) Campbell; and three sisters: Janna (Mike) Albers, Jean Campbell, and Judy (Jim) Shomberg.

Daughter, Tess, was his pride and joy and he felt blessed that he got to know her fiancé, Jacob Smith. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Duane Campbell and June (Stelter) Campbell. Also survived by nieces, nephew, other relatives, and many fun-loving friends.

Bruce was born and raised in Madison, played and watched many sports, but especially loved hockey. He graduated from East High School in 1979, played on the 1978 team that took the State Hockey Championship. Bruce attended the University of Wisconsin and spent much of his life working with his hands as a carpenter and cabinet-maker. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter, never missing an opportunity to escape to the Northwoods.

Private services were held. Memorials to Pheasants Forever or Agrace Hospice are appreciated. Bruce’s family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of SSM Health and Agrace Hospice for their kind, compassionate care.
