Brian P. Murray

Brian P. Murray age 72, passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital, Madison, WI with his family by his side on August 27, 2026.

Brian was born January 14, 1954 to Joseph and Sara (Sullivan) Murray. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1972.

On October 5th, 1974, Brian married his prom queen and High School sweetheart Terry Marks at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Columbus, WI. They were married 51 years before Terry’s passing in November of 2025.

Brian worked many years as a concrete finisher for Midstate Corp., Findorff and Star Concrete and he took great pride in his work, often sharing where he did his best work on his journeys, one of them being the Monona Terrace. Brian’s greatest blessings in life were his two grandchildren, Gretta and Chloe. He was lucky enough to see Chloe with her steer this year at the Dodge County Fair, just days before his passing. He was a very proud grandpa.

Brian enjoyed going for rides, sitting outside to watch the birds, and watching his granddaughters in their sports. He looked forward to “Deer Camp” every hunting season. He was an avid Badger, Packer and Brewer fan, and let’s not forget about his Marquette Eagles. Brian loved every sport and could often times tell you the stats or the score of a game from years ago, he was a great historian when it came to his sports.

Brian is survived by his children, Megan (Jeremy) Kelm, and Joseph Murray. His grandchildren, Gretta and Chloe and his grand-fur pup Cali, who has been the best companion for Brian. He is further survived by his brother, Michael (Suzi) Murray and sister, Bridget Murray (Gary Schroeder). His sister-in laws, Julie, and Lori Marks, Brenda Marks and his brother-in-law, Billy (Amber) Marks, as well as many other nieces and nephews.

Brian was proceeded in death by his wife, Terry, his parents, Joseph and Sara, his in-laws, William and Marlene Marks. Two brother-in-laws, Bobby and Jan Marks.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the doctors and nurses at St. Mary’s and SSM Home Health & Hospice for their care they gave to Brian in his last few days of life.
