Barbara J Lunsford

June 6, 1953 — March 27, 2022

Dane/McFarland, WI Barbara J. (Farr) Lunsford peacefully passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at the UW Hospital in Madison WI after a long and difficult battle with numerous medical issues. Barbara was born on June 6, 1953, in Portage, WI to the late Marjorie (Wyman, Farr) Karls. Her childhood was spent in Dane, WI and then she lived in the Baraboo/Portage areas and moved back to Dane in her later years. Barbara was a loving, caring, giving woman who loved her son, Scott and his wife Amy, and her many grandchildren deeply. She was a very hard worker, employed at numerous care giving positions (children and adults), factories and convenient stores throughout her working career. She was an enthusiastic Elvis Presley fan (she loved everything Elvis), a keen card player, an avid reader and a whiz at jig saw puzzles, crossword puzzles and word searches. She had beautiful penmanship and kept a daily journal. In the past she enjoyed going to Ho Chunk casinos and hopefully winning a little or a LOT. Barb was always a good sport and was willing to share a laugh or two with whoever she was visiting with. She was always upbeat and never complained when life got hard for her. Barbara is survived by her son Scott (Amy) Farr, grandchildren, Lacie, Alex, Hanna, Tristen, Hunter, Chase, Zach, Evan, and Dakota. She is further survived by her brothers and sisters, Karen (Alfed) Caudell, Tom (Faye) Farr, Virginia Franklin, Sandy Cook, Bob (Nina) Farr, Mary Lou (Francis/Butch) Hyatt, Jack (Deb) Karls, Bill Karls, Susan Frankland and many, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. She is also survived by her 2 spunky, fur baby Chihuahuas, Frankie, and Lucy. Barbara was proceeded in death by her parents Alois and Marjorie (Wyman, Farr) Karls, her sister, Betty (Farr) Weldon, her brother James Karls and brothers-in-law, Warren Weldon, and Jack Frankland, and her beloved little teacup Chihuahua, Ellie. The family wishes to thank the staff at the McFarland Villa assisted living facility and the doctors and nurses of the UW Hospital, who were all professional, supportive, and loving in their care of Barbara. May God bless you as you have blessed Barbara and our family. A celebration of Barb’s life will take place at Peg and Doc’s Sports Bar and Grill, 106 Dane St., Dane WI on Saturday, May 7 from 2:00 – 5:00pm. Family and friends welcome.
