Barbara Bailey Potter, loving wife, beloved mother, and grandmother, struggled hard against Alzheimer’s for nine years at home and passed away on July 9, 2019, at Sunset Ridge Memory Care Facility in Jefferson, WI. She leaves behind her husband Richard, two daughters, Michelle and Victoria and four grandchildren, Shawn, Glenn, Isabelle, and Ian. Plus three sisters, Mary Ellen, Elizabeth, Lynn, and brother, Carl.
Barb was born on June 28, 1938 in San Francisco, CA to William W. and Marjorie B. Bailey, the family moved to Honolulu, Hawaii, where her father was stationed. Prior to the Pearl Harbor attack, Barb and her mother returned home to Penn Yan, NY, while Barb’s father served in the Pacific Theater throughout WWII. At war's end, her father joined General MacArthur as an Aide in Tokyo, Japan, where his family joined him from ’46 to 51. When the family returned to Japan in ’55, Barb graduated from Tokyo’s Narimasu High School in 1956. She entered Miami University in Oxford, OH, where she met her future husband Richard. In the '70s after the birth of her two children, Barb became the top sales person for ABC’s top “Rock'n Roll" radio station in Chicago, IL. In the '80s, Barb and her husband formed the successful Potter Advertising/Marketing Agency in Chicago. In 2007, they retired and moved to Lake Mills, WI.
