Andrew Richard Hollmer

Jul 8, 1954 — Jun 1, 2026

Andrew Richard Hollmer, age 71, passed away peacefully at home on June 1, 2026. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose kindness, respect for others, quick wit, and unforgettable sense of humor touched the lives of all who knew him.

Andy had a remarkable ability to make people laugh and feel welcome wherever he went. Whether sharing a story, a joke, or simply offering a listening ear, he made those around him feel valued and at ease. One of his favorite stories to tell was about his bicycle adventure in the 1970s, when he rode from Chicago to Canada carrying only a pup tent and a spirit of adventure.

Andy enjoyed a long and well-respected career with Morton Salt in Chicago, Illinois, where he earned the admiration and friendship of many colleagues throughout the years. He was known not only for his strong work ethic and wealth of knowledge but also for the genuine kindness and humor he brought to every interaction.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferdinand and Dorothy Hollmer; his brother, Richard Hollmer; and his sister, Alice Rebecci.

Andy is survived by his loving wife, Julie; his sons, Scott Hollmer and Peter Hollmer; his stepdaughters, Haley Martin and Molly Martin; and his cherished grandchildren, Annabelle, Thea, Logan, Simon, Eli, Jenny, and Ava, who brought immense joy and pride to his life.

Some of Andy's happiest moments were spent with Julie, especially their date nights at Riviera Bowl, enjoying Friday night fish fries, good conversation, and time together.

Andy's legacy of kindness, laughter, wisdom, and love will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Riviera Bowl, 51 Polk Street, Sauk City, WI 53583 on July 12, 2026 from 1pm-4pm. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor Andy's life, share memories, and celebrate the joy he brought to so many.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages everyone to honor Andy's memory by sharing a laugh, telling a good story, and treating others with the kindness and respect that defined his life.
