Allen Owen, age 79, passed away on April 24, 2021, at the University of Wisconsin-Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. He was the oldest child of Willis and Vera Owen; brother to Connie (Jerry) Niedfeldt, Gail (Robert) Korb, Dean (Nicole) Owen and father of Heather Owen. Allen was preceded in death by his daughter Holly and his parents.
Allen was born and raised in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. He was actively involved in scouting and earned the Eagle Scout honor. After graduating from Oconomowoc High School in 1960 and the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1964, he answered President Kennedy’s call to America’s youth and volunteered for the Peace Corps. Allen served in Malawi for two years in Public Health. Upon his return from Malawi, he pursued a dental degree and graduated from the University of Illinois – Chicago. Shortly afterward, he served as a Captain in the Air Force during the Vietnam War as a dentist stationed at Fort Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi.
In 1972 he opened a dental practice in Greendale, Wisconsin and continued his holistic dentistry until just one week before his passing. Allen explored many interests during his lifetime and especially enjoyed his bucket list trips with the Edgar Cayce groups. Allen lived a full life of continued learning and explored energy and esoteric healing, helping others to reach their optimum health and potential.
A celebration of Allen’s life will be held at Grassway Organic Farm in East Troy on July 25th. A private interment will take place at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church cemetery in Ashippun, Wisconsin.
