Alexander (Sasha) Rosen

Alexander (Sasha) Sky Rosen died on February 5, 2026 when he was struck by a car while crossing South Park Street in Madison, WI.

Sasha Rosen was born on November 17, 2008 in New York City to Sandy Jensen and Nadya Rosen. For the first 8 years of his life he lived and played in Brooklyn, NY. In early 2017, his family moved to Madison where he lived until his untimely death.

Sasha was a bright light in the lives of his family, friends, and community. A senior at West High School, Sasha was planning to go to college in either the Twin Cities or Chicago, eagerly awaiting a return to big city life. Sasha loved video games and music, singing in the West Choir program all 4 years of attendance. Sasha listened to an eclectic array of music from Radiohead to Tyler the Creator, both artists he was lucky enough to see live. He attended Camps Shalom and Noar-Bogrim, and was a counselor at Camp Shalom. He was learning guitar and after years of eschewing Lego, began happily building them again late last year. Sasha was a new driver and loved to zip around town in his beloved Santa Fe with the music blasting. But most importantly, Sasha was a person who loved to joke, smile, and make people smile.

Sasha's loss is an open wound of pain for all who knew him.

Sasha is survived by his mother, Nadya; grandparents, Lynn Rosen, Monica (Gary) Zimmer, and John (Alice) Jensen; aunts Carrie (Josh) Duggan, Wendy (Kelly) Jensen, Alice (Ben) Rosen, and Margot (Eileen) Rosen; cousins Beckett and Taylor Duggan, Bodhi and Huck O'Brien, and Maya Pelletier. Sasha is predeceased by his mother, Sandy Jensen, and his grandfather, Shachna Rosen.
