MARSHALL - Aaron J. Clifton, age 79, passed away on November 23, 2020 in his home in Marshall after a long battle with cancer.
He was born on May 17, 1941 to the late Kenneth and Lucille Clifton in Owen, WI. He graduated from Stratford High School in 1959, and two years later married Noreen Helstrom. He enlisted in the United States Navy, graduating first in his class from the Naval Corpsman School in Newport, RI. After his years of service, Aaron was honorably discharged in 1967, and would begin working with the Oscar Mayer corporation in 1970 as a lab technician in the Quality Assurance Department. His work ethic led him to attaining a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science from the University of Wisconsin in 1978, and several positions through the Quality Assurance Department. He retired in 1999 as the Senior Staff Technologist Supervisor.
Aaron enjoyed drumming, painting, bowling, golfing and reading books about war.
He is survived in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Kristie and Shaun Shirley; grandchildren, Sawyer Heiman, Tyce Shirley, Kale Shirley and Tess Shirley; his siblings, Sharon Telschow, Sandra Gross, Scott (Sharon) Clifton, and Steve (Julie) Clifton. He was preceded in death by his wife, an infant son and daughter, and two brother-in-laws.

A celebration of Aaron’s life will be held at a later date due to the current COVID-19 restrictions.
